It's desperation and not knowing what to do .. that got us in to Afghanistan. It's desperation and fear that keeps us there..and keeps us attacking for the sake of the polls... It's desperation and fear that keeps us raising the stakes with 'biggest offensive yet' It's desperation and fear that keeps us playing on the publics sense of anger and fear. It's desperation and fear that keeps us talking about an opportunity to kick ass when the actors have changed, when the scenario has changed, when the whole damn thing has changed except the script that we have in our hand. It's desperation and fear that keeps us hiding energy policy by executive order. It's desperation and fear that gets us out there stealing medical records and then changing right to privacy policy after the fact. It's desperation and fear that keeps us on the television every week talking about the evil one, the evil axis, Oh scratch that it doesn't matter any more. Oh it doesn't matter any more. Just keep reading the same old tired script. The 'proval rating starts to dive. Oh we keep reading the same ole tired script. It worked for Daddy for chrissake. It's gotta' work now. this is an opportunity. An opportunity, I say. After all, I'm the president. And it worked for daddy. Daddy knows what he's talkin' about. He wasn't an actor. I'm not an actor.
