Certicom Gets FAA License Pact For Air Traffic Control

HAYWARD, Calif. -(Dow Jones)- Certicom Corp. (CERT) has received a license agreement from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration to provide security products for the development of next-generation air-traffic-control networks.

In a press release, the company said its Trustpoint/CA and Trustpoint/PKI Portal will provide a PKI-based foundation that will protect the integrity of communications between air traffic controllers and pilots. Certicom is joining with Basic Commerce and Industries, Inc. to integrate public-key infrastructure with the FAA's Aeronautical Telecommunications Network data link program.

The value of the agreement wasn't disclosed.

Certicom provides information security software and services.
