Just thinking out loud for a minute.

re: durable goods and consumer sentiment.

Durable goods numbers this morning were pathetically weak if you take out defense spending. Even though people are bullish, they are putting the breaks on spending.


Wonder what the chances are we end up starting another war wit Iran or Iraq just maintain a defense spending budget. This would buy time for an economic recovery. I doubt the next war will be another "desert storm" Likely drag out a good year. ala Afganastan.
