Cleared everything up? hardly. But that's an excellent set of responses. The source(s) of abstract thought, emotions and indeed consciousness baffle me, too. OTOH, I believe we will come to understand them sufficiently to replicate, cause and shape them... one reason I want to be around, again - what happens next?? Likewise, I believe we'll come to know far more about the physical/physiological manifestations of altruism, and also self-destructive behaviours such as war, addictions, etc. Whether these have any meaning or cause beyond us... who knows? I do not believe that a "Creator" would ever intervene in earthly matters, nor would He(?) reveal anything to us in some divine manner. Which presumably eliminates all revealed religions as containing greater truth - although obviously their moral teachings, etc, remain...
