Coors to Pay $300 Million to Be NFL Sponsor

- WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Coors Brewing, a unit of Adolph Coors is set to sign up with the National Football League in a $300 million sponsorship deal said to be one of the richest ever in sports, USA Today reported Wednesday. The NFL was expected to announce Wednesday that Coors, the No. 3 U.S. brewer, would take over as the league's 'official' beer sponsor for the 2002-2007 seasons, displacing Anheuser-Busch Inc., the world's top brewer, and Miller Brewing, the second-largest U.S. brewer and a unit of Philip Morris Inc., the paper said.
