it lacks common sense and LACKS FAMILY VALUES!!! This is compasionate conservatism. There is a mistaken idea out there that compasionate conservatives actually show compassion to others. The truth is they conserve compassion, that is they hold it in and do these dasterdly things even when compassion would work better. They're building a national compassion repository under a rainbow in Montana. TP

Bush wants to force welfare mothers to wed! In Europe many couples have children and may never marry, according to an article I read recently. What is important was the quality of the relationship. The marriage certificate was irrelevant! "If one family member gets arrested on a drug charge then they will all be thrown out of public housing. So if someone's Grandmother who is in public housing takes in her grandson or daughter to try and straighten them out............she's out on the street if they get busted." Bush's bureaucratic bungling! JMOP
