Yes, if the economy recovers strongly in the not too distant future, the currently very high PEs would be meaningless.... That is the problem though. Having faith in a new bull market at this point is almost like gambling down in Vegas or Atlantic City. Buying high quality companies that should be survivors on the significant over sold dips should be a good strategy going forward, as long as the economy does not fall off the proverbial cliff for whatever reason.... <g>
