ROOM Hotel Reservations: CFO discusses TVLY contract (59.86 -8.73) -- Update --
Thomas Weisel Partners hosted a meeting this morning with ROOM CFO Mel Robinson, who addressed firm's concerns that the Travelocity's acquisition of Site59 was a signal of TVLY's intention to build an in-house hotel merchant product to reduce its reliance on ROOM. According to Mr. Robinson, the contract with TVLY runs through July 2005, and there are no exit clauses through which TVLY may escape. Contract also prevents TVLY from selling its own hotel merchant inventory in the 201 markets in which ROOM has inventory.
