Well, a scrubber technology was developed ten years ago or so that would reduce emissions from coal fired plants to near zero. The oil lobby killed it with the help of our government.

I'd be real interested in the "way too many problems" with wind generation. The Europeans seem to be having no difficulty deploying windmills all over the place. Are we so lame that we can't engineer around any problems? Is our wind different than theirs? I wonder how many windmills can be put up for 4 billion.
