Nasdaq short interest increasing is more bullish than the headlines we saw.
My reason is that the bigger cap stocks generally got more increases. As a general rule, these names also trade at higher prices.

So a share short on MSFT is not the same as one on PALM. A lot more dollars are required to get short on MSFT. You can short 10 times as much Palm for the same dollars.

If one looks at dollars spent on shorting the stocks, my guess is that the increases were more significant than what we get just comparing short interest for Feb and Mar.

When one factors in the big increases in NYSE short interest for mid March, the set up for a major move higher (as Zeev expects) in April seems to be developing.
