Amen to that! Most of the successful traders and investors here structure their systems so that, if they're wrong, they get the Market return, minus commissions, or break even. Traders who play with eroding derivatives, whose value declines as a function of time, eventually lose - a little or a lot. If you want to write options against stocks your own, that's a different matter. If you're eager for greater risk, I'd suggest leveraged funds that have a higher volatility than the underlying index they track.

bobby beara, thanks for your concern and advice. I'm a novice to many of the indexes discussed here but not to options having traded many 1000's of contracts since 1999. I certainly understand your point of view. Rgds, Don
