Heatsinker2,

Re: "I am very hopeful that Wall Street will start valuing AMD with the same
P/E as its peers in the semi industry. This would mean a big runup in stock price."

If you haven't been paying attention, AMD is currently LOSING money.
Their P/E is listed appropriately as N/A. Until they solve this problem,
don't look for stock to rise much. AMD has lost market share recently
and their ASP's are falling. Not good, IMHO.

Make It So,
Yousef

Heatsinker, "So we can win if AMD doesn't conquer Intel on the technical front."

I strongly disagree with this sentiment. Being second-best
dictates severely depressed prices along all product
segments. It is a historical fact.

"Which means that they can change strategy whenever they want."
I disagree here too. Strategies are based on solid
research and development projects, which takes long time
(and big money) to carry on. You can cancel them overnight,
but it takes years to built right teams and get results.

"There's nothing stopping AMD from moving to large-cache solutions in the future."

There might be something, called "corporate philosophy
and culture".
