Speaking as some sort of liberal, and as a veteran of the Army of the Streets during the Namdaze, I think that putting a daisy down a gun barrel held by one of these guys will only get yer fingers blown off, but that would be ok 'cuz the pain will only be around until the next round goes thru the head. It doesn't seem like they have much sense of humor.

I had some problems with the 911 thing. It bothered me that I totally supported what we were doing after basically being anti-war for the last 30 years. I totally acknowledge that there is an evil in the world which will not respond to words nor to peace signs. About the stupidest thing I saw post 911 was an ancient, no elderly, no, make that a day or two older than me, pacifist who said he had been there during WW2, and that the answer to Hitler should have been non violent CD. Gimmie an effing break. Anybody who did a sit-in would get their head blown off.

I had a long discussion about that, post 911, with my boss. Interesting guy...went from the Army Honor Guard to the Great Peace March. He had the same thoughts, but he also had a very appropriate comment from Ghandi, re Hitler, which I'll basically paraphrase as ".sometimes the use of force is ok" . Wish I could remember it.

Peace
