If military pay is so good, why are so many of our soldiers on food stamps? The ugly truth is that military pay is very low, especially if we wish to avoid conscription.

Military budgets as a percentage of GNP have fallen alarmingly over the last decade. At the same time, non-military government spending has exploded even more alarmingly.
