I agree. The market is certainly telling us both with the stock price and junk bond status that their is a risk of default.

Lucent with $4.7 Billion in cash and cash flow that is getting better and close to the positive column, and showing growth in sales while others have huge declines, is in the strongest position compared to other similar telecoms. Lucent is not burning cash like it was 2 years ago and to suggest otherwise is deceptively wrong. So no. The risk to $0 only exists if we all agree that telecoms are going totally away and we are all going to de-evolve and use smoke signals for communication. In other words, the risk of it happening is zero.

Just imagine the world without telecom today. Just try.

For one thing, the perma-bears, like certain people here, will start complaining that they can't get on the net or on the phone to short X or Y stock. Now that would be funny. rotflmao

You people need to get a life.

GV- thanks for the follow up post..

Some men you just can not reach.. so instead you just watch them go down in flames and learn from the mistakes they made so you never go down that road..

Sylvestor has a life expectancy of a 'gnat' on wallstreet.. I know that sounds cruel, but the sooner he recognizes it the better his chances of not going down that path that 95% of investors/traders end up down..

Incidently- I also agree that LU wont go belly up this summer, although I disagree with you longer term if your betting on it rebounding.. Thats what makes a market tho, and at this price I certainly wouldnt rush out to play it for a $0 : ) just as I wouldnt dare buy it long unless just for a day trade..
