Microsoft has shown it will continue abuses even after entering into a consent agreement, so it IS necessary to carefully limit future actions; otherwise there will just need to be another case brought in a few years. I suppose one alternative would be to try to reset the clock by taking away ALL the illegally gained profits -- that $30B+ you folks like so much to tout.

THE COURT:

It would be very helpful, I think, to have the written direct when it's presented and filed with the court weekly. If you could just give it to me also on a CD-ROM so I can work with it. You obviously all have one, and so it shouldn't be -- if I could get the one for this past week and then for the future.

Sometime later:

MR. KUNEY: Your Honor, just in response to your request that we get the -- that you want the testimony on CD. Do you want it in Word or Adobe Acrobat, or does that make a difference to you?

THE COURT:
In Word. We don't want Acrobat. That doesn't work.
