The first section was when the prophet was ready to spread his message to the Jews and the Christians at the time. The second section was when his audience basically rejected his message, and he reacted with his anti-Jew and anti-Christian statements.

You know, I don't know. The Koran that I read, as many of them are, was ordered from the longest chapters to the shortest. There isn't a lot of continuity. The only thing is, that I didn't see much, if anything that could be construed as a positive attitude towards Jews and Christians.
