"care to explain the discrepancy?"

That's a bit tricky. Abortion is definately the act of killing an unborn child. I poke at the pro abortion people when they act as though it is just a choice, and yammer on about the poor mom and all these mean people that for some unknown reason (to them) are against women "choosing" to kill their unborn children. If it was discussed more frankly and realistically I believe fewer people would "choose" to do it.

On the other hand, murder is illegal and abortion is not. If it was legal to kill your fellow man, would that be murder?

Abortion is a defenseless act(imo) against a defensless unborn child. Why people who profess to be for the underdog (liberals) are for this creepy act is beyond me. Especially women. Their purposeful description of this act as being a simple "choice" is evidence of their hypocritical position. If the argument to kill these children stood up in any way other than more people feel you should be able to do it than don't they would not have to make up terminology to trick the gullable.
