I wired boards on the old accounting machines and programmed 14XX computers from the console switches in the 60's. Things have sure changed since then even for us old geeks. Keep smiling! Scott

Well, compared to you guys, I'm a young buck, though I will admit to writing microcode on 370 communications controllers in the late 80's and early 90's.

Something I read the other day made me feel old. I forget the exact quote, but it referred to Java as a "low level language." Oh my...

Regarding HP and Compaq. Gerstner was delighted when the news first came out. And remember he was the first to coin the term "dot toast" back in the days of the roaring .com explosion. (I figured he was going to be wrong, but he was right.)
