I think he was having fun too and illustrating the point about too many dollars chasing too few "goods" when dollars do that sort of thing. of course, if gold is not one of the goods, there's little more than fun to his point.

I would add, you did not say how many sticks or parents existed. I can say, relative to dollars of late, gold is quite finite in its number should dollars flow in that direction. and more importantly for some, the shares which represent the quite countable holes in the ground.
