Each standards group under the IEEE lists companies that have filed to license the IP they believe relevant to implementation of the standards.

Please show me any such submission by Qualcomm with respect to .11 or .16. Qualcomm keeping track of 4g developments by attending a few meetings has little to do with them having any relevant IPR...

The Q is at 41.47 up 3.60 in pre-market. Thank you, God. Sorry, that was a CNBC quote and was wrong. They now have it at 38+, up .15-.20. I should have waited until I had seen a second quote for confirmation before posting. Thanks anyway, God.

Thanks for digging out some patents. The argument is still the same: Qualcom does not have the hegemony position in OFDM that it holds in cellular CDMA technology. I don't se anything in these patents that is "basic" to the merging OFDM based developments. CDMA is still a growing area of development and will be for several years, but the nature of wireless is changing towards an IP data centric model or which Qualcom does not have an advantage. At best, they appear to have patents that they can cross license. That could save them considerable license fees but I think the the basic patents are held outside the company.
