AM Communications' Quarterly Revenue
Highest in 27 Year Company History;
Earnings Increase Ten-fold From A Year Ago

AM Communications, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AMCM) announced the financial results for the third quarter and first nine months of its fiscal year 2002 ended December 29, 2001.

Total revenues for the third quarter of fiscal 2002 were $11.4 million, up 216% compared to total revenues of $3.6 million reported for the third quarter of fiscal 2001. The Company reported net income of $1.6 million during the recent quarter, compared to $150,000 for the comparable period in fiscal 2001. Revenues for the nine months ended December 29, 2001 were $19.5 million, up 74% from the $11.2 million in revenues reported in the comparable period a year ago. Net income was $1.8 million for the nine months ended December 29, 2001, compared to $700,000 for the comparable nine-month period a year ago.

Revenues generated from the Company's Broadband Products Business Unit for the third quarter of fiscal 2002 were $5.7 million compared to $3.6 million in the same period a year ago and $4.0 million in the 2nd quarter of fiscal 2002. Backlog for the Broadband Products Business Unit was at $3.7 million as of December 29, 2001, compared to $4.0 million as of September 29, 2001. The Company expects backlog to remain strong for its broadband products for the foreseeable future, as large existing customers begin fulfilling their order commitments against their new budget year.

Revenues from the Company's Broadband Services Business Unit, which began operations in January 2001, were $5.7 million for the quarter, compared to $37,000 in the second quarter of fiscal 2002. Our new fulfillment services and Total Quality Assurance (TQA) Management Services contributed substantially to the growth during the quarter. Additionally, the revenues of the recently acquired SRS Communications Corporation/EDJ Communications, Inc. (SRS/EDJ) have grown by 19% since the close of the acquisition. The Company anticipates that revenues from existing contracts of the Broadband Services Business Unit could amount to an estimated $31 million over the next 12 to 15 months.

Commenting on the results, Javad Hassan, Chairman of AM Communications, Inc., said, "We're extremely happy with these outstanding quarterly revenue and income results. These results clearly indicate market acceptance of our software-powered products and service solutions. In an economic climate where other companies in our industry are struggling, AM has grown dramatically. We began our diversification into the services sector of the industry in October 2000, closely following the return of AM's founder, Mac Qurashi. Our strong financial performance is indicative of our management team's execution of our plan. Both of our strategic business units, products and services, contributed equally to this quarter's revenue performance, and we're confident that business will remain strong for both segments in the coming quarters.

I think Linux is going to give MSFT and AOL fits in the next couple years...

How is Linux going to give AOL fits when they're not even in the OS business? Besides, people using Linux on the desktop aren't going to be likely customers of AOL anyhow.
