Dear rich4eagle: Well, it may have been a POLITICAL mistake (although at the time the domino theory was widely believed in) but in any case it wasnt the soldiers mistake. Our men and women (nurses) performed bravely and admirably there. Had we been left alone and not MEDDLED WITH we would have kicked Uncle Ho's ass all the way to China. Thats MY OPINION!! jdn

There you go again, trying to shift the blame. YOU were the one that brought up one sides atrocity, YOU brought up my lai. I responded by trying to show that the communists were guilty of the same. Not that it excuses my lai, but that no one should EVER think that the communists are above that.

As far as killing women and children per se, in a war only a fool makes a distinction when women and children are used to kill you. They lose all "rights' of protection in those circumstances, unless you want to come home in a body bag in the belly of an aircraft.

It may not be their fault and they may be forced to do whatever it is they are doing, but that doesn't change anything.
