I don't follow 400 stocks, Herb, so I wouldn't know, sorry to say. I don't even follow 200. Not even 20, actually. But in any case, the real-time data updates at the same speed as the quote sheets in eSignal. The QP2 data provides the historical daily data necessary for the formulas in the VBA macros.

Running actual scans would add extra time, of course, while the formulas are calculated in Excel, using the real-time and historical data. Excel isn't known for its speed when it comes to macros.

These days, I calculate sentiment indicators in real-time during the day, so no scans are involved. The data updates as quickly as it does in the eSignal quote sheets. When I ran scans, I ran them only once or twice, near the close, to look for various signals, based on things such as candlestick patterns or oscillator crossovers. The scans took several minutes to run, though there were no delays in the transmission of real-time data.
