And if a news shock kickstarts the reversion of the VIX (i.e., a decline), bulls will complain that "Well, who could have seen that coming." What rubbish!

Challo -- the VIX in % terms is interesting, but as you change the time frame you look at, it changes the perspective a lot (peak at a 2 year, for instance). That said, all the charts seem to imply that the VIX should stop going down <g>.

I am curious why there's so little talk here of the wedge break this morning. Volume even seemed strong for a wee bit, comparatively. I realize more and more things are falling into the bearish category, but for the short term, shouldn't the wedge break be given the benefit of the doubt?
