Update on GSM capex for CHU for 2002: There's a slide in the CHU annual report pdf file on the 2002 capex budget, which shows that CHU's projected capex on the GSM network in 2002 will only be 36.3% of the $21.72 billion RMB total - that amounts to 7.88 billion RMB, vs the 20.72 billion RMB spent on the GSM network in 2001. Clearly, the focus for CHU going forwards is on expanding the usage of the CDMA network, and not on further major expansion of the GSM network. David T.
