We need Porn!

Yep....i-mode in Europe is going to have it. If it sells as well as I expect, I would imagine that we'll see a US carrier willing to risk it. I also imagine that some of the off-shore gambling companies are looking closely at having a wireless site.

If gambling and sex dont sell on the wireless web, nothing will....

<We need Porn! >

You are probably right Caxton. Porn and similar is the biggest selling stuff in cyberspace. Computers are commonly shared, and a record of viewing remains on the computer, [a judge in New Zealand was recently involved in embarrassing exposure of his viewing habits - herald.co.nz ].

A cellphone, pdQ or notebook computer is a much more personal device. So, viewing porn on those might be much more acceptable, private and safer! Also, when truckers are getting ready to go to sleep in their sleeper cabs, they might like to see some comforting imagery. Or, when a salesman is bored at lunchtime or while waiting for an appointment, he might like to see the latest trends. [We don't need to be politically-correct about the saleman's gender because women are not very interested].

They drivel on about the applications which will drive data on cellphones, but porn sells like hot cakes! Astrology, handy restaurants, advertisements from nearby businesses, weather and stock quotes won't drive data.

Men could buy the data services for the great articles available in cyberspace.
