It's about principle, Joe. Principle and character are the key in a representative democracy. It is also based on the premise that people will not elect representatives they do not respect. The idea is that the Bill Clintons, Smilin' Joe Bidens, and Ted Kennedy's will eventually be turned out, and replaced by people who will clean up their mess. It is true, long run, even despite the incumbent protections that voter dilution, Social Security, and CFR put in place. Unfortunately, such corruption may delay SS reform until the aged are forced to live in the streets (or worse).

Principle is about collective wisdom, and the Founders had the faith to believe that it would prevail-eventually...

That's because none ever have.....none have ever had the courage to do so and try to get elected....
