Globe says Kavafian raises CAE to "strong buy"

Tue 14 May 2002

The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, May 14, edition that CAE surged
12.9 per cent or $1.64 to $14.37 on the Toronto Stock Exchange Monday after
posting a strong year-end and fourth quarter profit last week. The Globe's
Market Movers column reports that chief executive officer Derek Burney said
revenue from the company's flight training centres should triple this year,
leading to a double-digit increase in overall revenue and profit. Octagon
Capital analyst Jacques Kavafian raised his recommendation on the stock to
"strong buy" from "buy." He also raised his target price to $21 from $18 a
share. Mr. Kavafian maintained CAE as his "top pick" and gave the equity a
12-month target price of $36 in The Globe on June 14 when the stock was
trading at $29.10. Following his recommendation the stock declined steadily
to its 52-week low of $7.35 in late October.
