the advantage of peritoneal dialysis is that those who use it feel they have more control over their own lives. they dont have to go to a clinic or hospital two or three times a week for 4 hours per session.

on the other hand peritoneal dialysis is no cakewalk since you have to do it about 4 or 5 times per day -- EVERYDAY -- and each time takes about 1/2 hour or so. but it is convenient for those who like to travel.

i dont know what doctors recommend most -- but my brother's skin took on an unnatural look after 10 years using peritoneal dialysis.

my opinion is that hemo is the better of the two
