PT, OT, but I finally purchased a new computer setup. You were mentioning not using pricewatch for finding value processors, and I can see what you mean. In most cases, the "value" in value processors is decreasing all the time. It used to be that you could save several hundred dollars by going with a Celeron or Duron over the higher end Pentium III and Athlon. Now, the price differential makes getting the value processors less of a "value". I just picked up a 1.8GHz Northwood based Pentium 4, and I love it. Windows XP runs excellently with it, and it feels so much more responsive than my Pentium III 800MHz machine. It was definitely worth the upgrade. I only hope that many other home computer users feel the same way. A new upgrade cycle is long overdue, IMO.
