It's also starting to appear that Carly may not have been completely honest

Hmmmmm... a dishonest woman, now there's a revelation.

That Carly is a real pistol!!!

I think I'll have another Bacardi 8 & coca chica with lime while you guys throw daggers at each other in an concerted effort to solve the world's problems.

NW - I'm with Duke on this one. I'm sure both sides were pressing as hard as they could to get favorable votes. I have been in some tough corporate negotiations with some hardball players, and the language is always couched in terms where the intent is clear but the language is correct. No one ever says "we'll cut off your air supply" - well, no one but Larry Ellison. It's always "here's how we see our business interest" or "naturally you have to do what you think best, but here's how we see it playing out if you follow your current course" kind of discussion.

But business in the future is always in doubt, so "blackmail" is a silly term to use. Or do you think there was some reason for Deutsche Asset Management to have a lock on future HP business which HP then put at risk? So this was more likely an opportunity for them to curry favor with the HP management team in the hope of that business.

I would be very surprised of HP had less than the best doing last minute lobbying of the big block holders. So while Walter may be upset that pressure turned one of his voters, and someone in Deutsche Asset Management may have bent his ear, I suspect it will not pass muster under oath. The discussions will turn out to have been typical arm twisting.

In the meantime, Walter continues to damage the value of the company he claims to be protecting. This is way beyond (or below) intelligent dissent.
