And the US press.... until yesterday..

The fact, previous post….
just today few hours back..<FBI, 40 US commandoes in hot pursuit in Lahore in provincial capital of Punjab>

Although, US forces are in Pakistan effectively engaged in combat with local police arresting terrorists with a complete free hand and interrogations by FBI. I noticed until today what US press is reporting to the US public..

The myth of Pakistan number 1 enemy being projected, how little the US press knows what is happening and how hard they try to malign friendly nations.. Yesterday news were dominated by following unauthentic lies…....

Pakistani Tribal Leaders Warn US - New York Times
US Won't Chase Enemy Into Pakistan - Los Angeles Times
Sen. Wants Pakistan to Seal Borders - Associated Press
Pakistan Said Still to Aid Al Qaeda - Boston Globe

Which Border?
Officials in Washington have consistently said they believe al Qaeda fighters are finding refuge in Pakistan's tribal territories, so why is it that Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld says the US will instead focus on Afghanistan's border with Iran? Rumsfeld explains that he has confidence in Pakistan's ability to control its border with Afghanistan and that Iran has been "helpful" to fleeing al Qaeda fighters. Others, however, suggest that Washington's decision may have more to do with a warning from the tribal leaders who rule in western Pakistan, who have explicitly told the US to stay out of their fiefdoms.

My comment…. On myth and facts.. No one knows who is the tribal chief that wagged the tongue, no tribal chief has long enough a tongue to utter this nonsense, they listen to what government tells them and now with US commandoes not operating on Afghan border but in Lahore all this nonsense that Pakistan is not co-operating is laid to rest, like thousand of sorties by US planes to bomb Afghanistan were carried out by US without big fanfare from Pakistani air bases, the terrorists are being rooted out by FBI and US Commandoes, Bush knows it well however propaganda machine has its field day, I wanted in these last two posts to point the glaring inaccuracies.

No one is sure if this story is just planted, reporting so off the reality is the unfortunate part of 'yellow journalism' that is actively pursued by some in US circles, to turn friends into enemy and to take on the whole world and damn them is the logic but US needs solid friends, and Musharraf is one. Period.
