>>"Life must not have been too bad if they were able to sustain 3% birth rates and increase their populations at such a rate in those nasty refugee camps."<<

Oh yes, I would move to Gaza and one of those camps in a minute.... and with that birth rate I just can't wait to get all those new Hursts in those new beachfront condos on the Med.

>>"But the more interesting question is that, given they STILL have this fantastic birth rate, what will they be demanding 30 years from now (if not sooner)?? "Oh.. we can't manage to live on 100% of the Gaza strip so we want some of Israel now"..."<<

Entirely possible....they might begin to think they are entitled to parts of Israel (Palastine??), their recent home, just as the former residents of Moscow and Kiev think it belongs to them. Nah...can't happen. Why on earth would they think about something so "counter-productive".

And oh btw, did that British Mandate you are talking about say that those Jews that wanted to settle in Gaza and the West Bank should also be allowed to bring in Thai immigrants to do their labor in those "settlements" which is what those fanatics are doing. I guess they have the "right of return" too. Got to fill the 22% space with someone since the settler birth rate is so low.

>>"I wonder how much geographic space the 20% of the Israeli population, who are Arab/Palestinian, take up?"<<

Oh I don't know...probably 100% or so less than pre 48.
