I am afraid the majority of multinationals engage in accounting tactics resembling Enron
I believe Anderson is the fountain of chicanery knowledge
they were on a tight leash with WasteMgmtInc
it strictly forbade shredding and obstructions
that is why they will now die

I read recently about Genl Motors and its proforma games
their earnings for FY2001 are half what claimed

I read recently about IBM and its proforma games
their earnings ever since Merlin Gerstner took over are something like 70% of what claimed

these guys are all doing it
deceiving the public and violating trust
if they are largely Republicans, let them burn

I am convinced of two things:
1. many many big corporations are shells of value, whose debts outweigh any inherent value, as measured by mktcap... their chief value is as an employer

2. what keeps the economy flowing is the endless stream of debt, called euphemistically LIQUIDITY, which is just another name for INFLATIONary supply of cash... bubbles are everywhere you turn... cannot watch TV without some ad for no interest payments until next year, which means they are giving it away to stay in business

I am not optimistic about the recovery
this is not a liberal or conservative stance
since Sept11th, our world has opened a new door
it is marked by religious dispute, and constant warfare, even as multitudes struggle to maintain a standard of living

the entire financial system in my humble opinion is faulty
I cannot fix it
but I am incredibly optimistic that I will prevail
but investing in real money, as enjoined by natural resources
which have been neglected in value since the paper mill began to spew in 1993

take it easy, ToolMan
