I don't know how much control Arafat has over some of the extremists. According to last weekend's
paper, one group said they wouldn't listen to Arafat about the suicide bombings. I've read that
Hamas will not negotiate with Israel. I'm not sure of their conditions. Maybe, they won't negotiate
until Israel pulls out of Palestinian land.

The situation is very frightening. If the Israelis kill Mr. Arafat I'm not sure who will take his place, and
the fightening will get worse.

I wonder if Mr. Arafat or even Mr Sharon could stop a suicide bomber. A person who decides on this
course of action makes a personal decision. It is not a decision that an army or a government can
order a person to do.

I heard the US army has recently finished training snipers. They were all volunteers. There was a short
program on tv about their training.
