Typically, when pipelines are lengthened and rebalanced, there is a significant jump in mhz even on the same process. Athlon XP on SOI .13 is probably good for between 2.5GHZ and 3GHZ. Hammer is probably good for between 3GHZ and 4GHZ. What that will work out to in model ratings is something that will depend on IPC performance.

What they will debut the chip at becomes a marketing issue (just as Intel can probably ship P4 at 2.5GHZ whenever it needs to).

Dear MilO:

You forgot one performance booster, increased speed to memory akin to boost in FSB, 133MHz for PC2100 to 166MHz for PC2700. AXP should gain about 10-12% which would put Clawhammer to about 2GHz.
