Interesting observation. Reagan's polemics against the Evil Empire look appropriate in hindsight with the collapse of the USSR and the various former Soviet Republics slowly joining the West. What bothers me most about the "Evil Axis" is that it smells like a family feud, with W. looking to finish what Dad started. On the other hand, I have been reading lately that a large number of senior Iraqi Army defectors are saying that Saddam's frequent purges have left the Army ready to revolt. Let's hope that the hawks in the White House get this one right.
