It's not about begruding Murphy a website, Richard. And if YOU as one of his early generals considers his website nothing more than an "investment newsletter" and I quote you on that, then HIS tax - exempt status is on shakey ground.

Last I looked, investment newsletters were not a "non-profit" qualifiable section of the IRS code.

I posit when "cafe" becomes nothing more than an "invesment newsletter website," then Smurf has lost the "educational and political focus" under which tax exempt revenue receipts were originally collected.

And I'm the one on this thread who is forecasting that it is well on the road to becoming an investment newsletter, vis a vis his GSR and SAMEX touts currently well underway.

Now how 2 equities fit into the tax code definition of exempt political and educational fund raising orgs is something I have yet to behold...

I've been a part of a tax exempt org who forgot why it started and broke faith with the tax code and had a whole helluvalot of unhappy people who donated and lost their deductible "contribution/subscription" in retro-due to the laxity/stupidity of a "too-big-for-britches-Board-President Holman-leading-the-org-down-a-forbidden,
-mission-statement-be-damned-and-the-IRS-be-damned-while-we're-at-it path.

IT WAS UGLY.

Yes, I find your characterization of Bill's "cafe" to be extremely revealing indeed...perhaps the next "action" will be a defensive action wherein Smurphy has to defend his beloved tax - exempt status????

I got my front row seat! You want a beer or pretzels?
