Please don't forget that many of these priests were serial abusers. Let's look at the number of victims as well as the number of priests.

I understand there will be a human chain formed around the Boston church in which Cardinal Law will be saying Good Friday mass.

Nothing would surprise me, Bill.

Ten percent would be on the order of 5,000 priests in the USA. It would be a staggering number, even though still a small minority of the 50,000 or so. Probably most of these cases will not be prosecuted, due to statutes of limitation. Many good and innocent priests will also become victims, as some have reported being spit on in the streets, cursed, and the like, because of the collars that they wear.
