No. I think what was phoney was seventy-four years of not recognizing black actresses.

I don't disagree with you if you believe it was corny and over the top, like most of what Hollywood does. Charleymane made a good point last week: that, in this instance, Hollywood was far behind the rest of the country. It was about damn time.
