I think that the mistake is thinking that all muslims want to die. You don't see Arafat and OBL volunteering to strap explosives to their waist and walk into a pizza parlor. They have just found a way to exploit and manipulate a small group of people for their own means. There is no doubt in my mind that the wealthy and the leaders find life to be very valuable.

I think we have to be smart about this. Even if Russia supplied Iraq a weapon like this I don't think we can conclude that it was done so by the top level of their government. We've known for many years that black market weapons were going to be sold after the fall of the Soviet Union. As a result I don't think we can target Russia and I don't think we want to! But it does raise the stakes with Iraq and Iran. If it were me I would have a radio broadcast into Baghdad telling people to look to the south some evening. At that point I would drop a daisy cutter far enough outside the city to avoid any deaths but close enough for all residents to see (I assume those would be quite impressive at night). Then I would broadcast that they have 48 hours to produce Saddam or we will use that weapon on every square inch of their city. If we didn't have him in 48 hours or have evidence he was going to be turned over - then follow through with the promise. Sorry um Happy Good Friday
