I can take you to chapter and verse in the Clinton Administration era where it was publically announced that the goal was to cease and desist in the 30 year issuance of paper. Shortly thereafter, Disney released 50 year paper. It was really comical. Anyone who thought 30 year government paper was a commodities future fixture is kidding themselves. When I was a commodity broker back in '81, 30year t-bond futures were so new the daily floor call by the highpaid analyst couldn't hit a bond trading target with both eyes open and a seeing eye dog on each wrist. How soon we forget...
