I've tried overclocking many times in the past with varying degrees of success. But compared to the past, these days processors are cheaper, performance is much higher, and performance-sensitive tasks are fewer. To me, there isn't much incentive to overclock anymore, except to gain a badge of honor.

Speaking of which, I remember overclocking a Celeron 300A to 450 MHz, just like everyone and their brother was doing at the time. That was back in early 1999, and I did it for a friend. Last time I checked (which was about a month ago), the system is STILL running at 450 MHz, and it is STILL being used for various tasks. Now that's what you call a real gem. ;-)
