joseph, Because their island nation was so small in area, they were not satisfied with the amount of territory they had to live in, and the shortage of raw materials. This would cause them to look elsewhere, and no other nation is going to give up land, or resources, without payment, or because of force of arms. Because the Samurai mind set with the Bushido code is warlike in nature, they would consider conquest by war to their liking.
