Ben, I have noticed that the maximum pain moves up and down after the previous month options have come out and before the 3rd Firday of the next option expiration. Have you found whether there is some time during the month that best reflects the price max pain of a particular stock prior to option day? Right now AMAT's max. pain is $47.50, CSCO at 17.50 and Qcom at $45. Your statistical research supporting your finds will be appreciated.
