(A) The origin of the universe and existence, and my relationship to it. You may find it comprehensible that universe/existence began 12 billion years ago out of nothingness. You may comprehend "nothingness." You may find it comprehensible that in the first one-billionth second of existence, all the current matter and energy that composes the universe could be held in the palm of a hand. You may comprehend that matter and energy are a constant, and comprehend where they came from in the beginning. You may comprehend a beginning, where there was nothing before. You may comprehend that time started then. You may comprehend that time will someday stop ... or not. You may comprehend that the universe arose through accident, yet conforms to precise and immutable rules and laws of mathematics. You may comprehend that all matter and energy in the universe is expanding at near the speed of light in all directions and may continue to do so for infinity. You may comprehend what dimension or space the universe is expanding into. You may comprehend infinity of space or of time. I do not comprehend any of these matters. You may be satisfied with your understanding of the when, where, and how of your existence, and have no curiosity as to whether there is a why. You may be satisfied with a reductionist explanation of your humanness that explains your nature in terms of chemistry and biology. You may be satisfied that you are the product of evolution based upon self-preservation and natural selection, and have no curiosity as to why and how you came to have emotions such as love, altruism, generosity, and self-sacrifice. I am not satisfied with my understanding of such matters. Thus, I find my existence, by its very nature, to be utterly incomprehensible.
