your comment of carriers staying out for months is misplaced. I am referring to a three week period prior to the attack on Pearl.
It was you that implied that the order moving the fleet to Pearl and some heroic action by Halsey to keep the carriers safe were related. I maintain they were events were unrelated.

A small study of Chaos theory would be of a great help to you in understanding history. The arrow of time is a major factor. When looking back historians can show how one event precipitated or prevented another, how a chance encounter changed the course of a battle, or how a series of decisions led to an outcome. This kind of determination can only be made of the past, in the past there are no little changes that have big effects, the past is past and you can examine it with as much detail as you want and it won't change. It's easy to think that the people contemporary to the time had full knowledge of the results of their actions and the random variations to those results, but they don't.

Stop trying to guess the source of information that has led me to my conclusion
Your theories don't hold together well enough to be of your own creation. Even mad-men have some consistency. I'm just waiting for you to blame WWII on ballet companies.
