I think that the mindset of the "middleclass" in the Arab world is such that they will be hard pressed to change. They have been conditioned for thousands of years to believe in a system of Royal Blood and The Peasant.

I think that if they can resolve the Israeli/Palestinian problem, these regimes will fall one by one. They can now easily deflect the attention of the average person.

I think we would one revolution after another in that region if somehow Israel/Palestinians to come a peace agreement. They would be replaced by liberal, democratically elected leaders. What makes me think they will be liberal?---it was a report that Pakistan's religious parties get only 5% of the vote in past elections. People just don't trust religious leaders in political positions. I am not referring to fringe groups, just the average individual. In an election, these people have no chance to win....especially after the world witnessed how people celebrated in Kabul after the Taliban fell. Their only hope if dictatorship.
