The definition seems pretty clear that there needs to be harm
attacks can often be salubrious
they can make you aware of kindred thinkers, who might not have expressed themselves but for the presence of attackers
they can make you aware of your adversaries flaws
and they can give you inspiration for creative writing
there are many more positive benefits
but those were the three that came most readily to mind

It seems to me that when one is a target of an effected attack, one is a victim, whether or not it hurts or no one accepts that it hurts. I don't see any shame in that.
